Chad Houfek, L.Ac.
Owner of Charleston Community Acupuncture, Licensed Acupuncturist & HerbalistChad Houfek is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of South Carolina, and is nationally certified by the NCCAOM as a Diplomat of Chinese Herbal Medicine. After graduating from the College of Charleston, he earned his Masters of Science degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2009 from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado.
Chad founded Charleston Community Acupuncture in 2009 with the mission of offering multiple styles of acupuncture at affordable rates. He has been a full time acupuncturist ever since. Over the years he continues to refine his skills and build his knowledge by learning from some of the best in the field and interning with many gifted teachers. He has treated thousands of patients over the years thanks to his higher volume clinical practice, and remains passionate about acupuncture. He has completed trainings with Whitfield Reeves in Orthopedic acupuncture and studied with Dr Wei-Chieh Young, a direct student of Master Tung.
Chad specializes in Orthopedics, chronic pain, and treating chronic diseases and stress-related disorders. His passion is using acupuncture and herbs to transform people’s suffering into better health. Chad believes that acupuncture can change the way we look at our health, body, mind, and spirit.
When he is not at work, Chad enjoys balancing his time with family and friends, going to the beach, playing music, gardening, and sharing the process of discovery and growth with his wife, two children, and two rescue dogs.
