What To Expect

Before You Visit

Wear comfortable clothing that is loose fitting if possible, as patients in our clinic generally keep their clothes on during treatment. You will feel better and benefit from the treatment more if you are able to eat something within four hours of your treatment.

1st Visit. Please arrive 15 minutes before scheduled appointment! There is a questionnaire form to fill out along with a consent form to sign that may take up to fifteen minutes to fill out. You can DOWNLOAD FORMS HERE to fill the forms out prior to coming in if you would prefer to save time the day of your appointment. Your practitioner will orient you to our clinic and will begin your consultation in our private consult room. 1st treatment normally lasts about an hour to an hour and a half.

All Visits After

You may be treated lying on your back or your front on a massage table or reclining in a very comfortable recliner or zero gravity chair. We are able to offer our prices a less than three to six times the standard going rates due to our community setting. We use very comfortable recliner chairs, Zero Gravity chairs and massage tables arranged in sets of 3 to 4. Treatments are done in a quiet group setting actually originates in China where it is common to see. What can I expect after a treatment? In general, you can expect to feel relaxed for several hours following an acupuncture treatment. Reactions specific to particular injuries or health concerns should be addressed by the acupuncturist on an individual basis.

How does it work/what is it really doing?

This is the million dollar question. The answer is - there is most likely no one answer. Whether seen as a result of particular chemical/hormonal processes, movement of bio-electricity, vascular excitement, regulation of the central nervous system, connective tissue communication, 'placebo' effect, positive thinking or the manifestation of qi, without a doubt, acupuncture works.
